The wood I make these from can vary considerably. I don't have a local hardwood supplier and must get the hardwoods wherever I can—the dinosaur in these photos I made from reclaimed wood.

Currently, I am making my dinosaurs from red oak flooring cutoffs from a new installation. These cutoffs are too short to use for the flooring installation, but they are perfect for making dinosaurs. After resawing with my Shopsmith bandsaw to remove the tongue and groove from the edges and the ribs hardwood flooring has on the back, the wood is the perfect thickness for making the dinosaurs.

I make these wood toy dinosaurs in my Toymaker's Shop using traditional woodworking tools. Each dinosaur is made from hardwoods, sanded smooth, and hand-finished with a blend of USP Grade mineral oil, beeswax, and carnauba wax I make myself.

I make items by hand from natural wood and wood products. They can differ from one piece to the next. The one you receive may be slightly different from the item in the listing photos. Wood dimensions may vary slightly from the stated size.

Not for children under three years old or kids that are still chewing things. If the toy breaks, small parts may present a choking hazard. Small children should not play with this toy without adult supervision.
