The original design for this wooden toy car had grey exhaust pipes. I had some gray paint and decided to give it a try to see how I liked them. I think the gray works good with the shellac. This car also has a knot. It's not very noticeable and I've been told there are some people that consider knots a feature. Knots can be hard to deal with so I usually try to avoid them. However, knot on the toy car didn't cause any problems at all. Amber shellac is a good finish to use when leaving knots. It will seal them and sticks well. Some finishes will peal right off a pine knot. 
 
 
 Handmade wooden toy car (Deuce Coupe) for adults or kids. Sturdy, durable, and made for play or decor. I make these wood toy cars one at a time in my toymakers shop using traditional woodworking tools and hand-finish the toy with Amber Shellac, Metallic Purple, and Gray Acrylic Paint. All of the materials used in my toys are nontoxic. I make every effort to make sure my toys perform well.

I make items by hand from natural wood and wood products. They can differ from one piece to the next. The one you receive may differ from the item in the listing photos. Wood dimensions may vary slightly from the stated size.

Not for children under three years old or kids still chewing things. If the toy breaks, small parts may present a choking hazard. Small children should not play with this toy without adult supervision.

Unfortunately, he started playing with them before I had the chance to take photos. All the parts for the truck, except for the wheels, can be made from wood purchased at a big box store. I used a scroll saw to cut the body from a 2x4 section, but a piece of 2x6 would be easier. I had to reduce the body size to avoid the rounded corners on the 2x4.
