I don't have a noncopyrighted Etsy photo to add to this post, so here is a spider puzzle almost completed and will be added to my Etsy shop soon. Since there is no way to know that the sales from the Etsy ads are not sales, I would have got it anyway. I see no benefit to turning it on. Less than 28% of my shop views come from Etsy.  I had the ads turned on for a while. I lost money. For example, customers would buy a $30 item and a $6 item. The $6 item was essentially free. But it gets worse. Most of my items ship USPS First Class Mail, If someone buys two items and the weight goes over 16 ounces, I have to ship USPS Priority Mail. Now the shipping cost that was $5 is $10. Doing a little math, I figure that once I subtract all the fees and shipping costs, my share is now around $20. I turned it off. Does it hel

  I make these from the cutoffs I always have left over from other projects. It provides away for me to use more of the wood and my grandson lave them. There are a lot of animal cutouts in this particular series. They are from a plan set for a Noah's Ark toy where the animal shapes are all based on animal crackers. I made the toy tiger from unfinished wood, sanded it smooth, and making ready to paint. The tiger is free-standing and makes a great stacking or pretend toy when combined with other similar toys. My grandson has many small animal cutouts he loves to stack in many different ways. I think he plays with them more than any other toy I have made for him.   Handmade Wooden Toy Car Classic 1957 Bug From the Play Pal Series This toy car is a little bit more of a rustic style without being rough. I usually don't make this many in a batch, but the wood I am using to make these usually yields poorly. I expect to have up to 50% of the birds wind up as designer kindling due to defects that I can't detect until the turkey is cut. Much to my surprise, this time, every one of them made it to the final cut. Initially, the turkeys were a custom order used for kids to make Thanksgiving decor for their parents. I make the birds from construction grade 1x wood. After I cut them, I sand the parts smoothly and soften all the edges while checking for defects at each step. After all, it is hardwood and much stronger than pine. Not drilling the holes first was a mistake. While drilling the largest hole, the drill bit caught for just a second and broke the dragon's neck. I will not be doing that again. Fortunately, I was making more than one this time and did not need to start over. I lost the time sent making that one body plus the cost of the wood.  All the parts for one wood dragon.
