I carefully sand all the parts smooth removing any sharp edges. The puzzle is finished with a blend of USP Grade Mineral Oil, Beeswax, and carnauba wax that I apply hot to get deep penetration. The puzzle is freestanding and can sit easily on a shelf, window sill, or 3/4-inch or wider door frame. The individual parts make good pretend toys.
