Handmade Wood Toy Monster Truck Based On The Play Pal Pickup Design - 496688424

I have made a lot of these toy monster trucks. After watching my grandson try to push a toy car with small wheels across the carpet, I originally got the idea. I had made larger ones for him that he played with, but his hands were too small to handle them well. I looked at the size wheels I had and picked out some that would work. The standard 3/4-inch think pickup body would not do, so I doubled the thickness to 1-1/2-inch. It worked great, and my grandson loved the truck. I have since made a lot of Play Pal monster trucks. Not everyone likes them, but the kids do, and I have had people purchase as many as four in different widths and colors.   Although this toy truck looks simple, it was challenging to make. The body width is right at the maximum I can cut on my scroll saw. I got my finger mashed several times. These are delightful toys for toddlers. Made from 100% hardwoods with the axles pined, they are nearly indestructible. It will be a unique gift for someone special and likely the last one ever.  Approximate Size: Length: 3-1/2 Inches Width: 3 inches Height: 2 Inches Wheel Diameter: 1.5 Inches My grandson has several of these in various colors, finishes, and materials. Despite his rough play, they are still going strong, outlasting factory-made plastic toys. By pressing down with your finger over the rear axle and slowly applying pressure until the monster truck pops out from under your finger, the truck can do backflips. It takes a bit of practice to get the hang of it, but my grandson has made them flip since he was three years old. Other sizes and colors may be available via custom orders. Monster Trucks ...

Monster Trucks Other Toy Trucks Play Pal Toys Toy Cars Shop Front Page   I made this toy truck by hand on my scroll saw. The thick laminated body was almost too thick for my scroll saw to cut. I banged my fingers a few times before I learned to keep them off the top of the toy truck body. They are pretty hard to make as toy trucks go, and I'm not sure I will ever make these again. There are several similar trucks currently available in my shop.  A unique toy made by hand from 100% hardwood. Sturdy, durable, and built to last. An excellent gift for kids or adult monster truck fans. By pressing down with your finger over the rear axle and slowly applying pressure until the monster truck pops out from under your finger, the truck can do backflips. It takes a bit of practice to get the hang of it, but my grandson has been able to make them flip since he was three years old.
