A wood toy Ostrich I made in my Toymakers Shop using traditional woodworking tools. I made the toy from unfinished wood, sanded it smooth, and it is ready to paint. The toy is free-standing and makes a great stacking or pretend toy when combined with other similar toys.

I make small animals from wood cutoffs I have left from other projects. Because of this, the thickness will vary but will never be less than 1/2-inch. The type of wood and thus the color will vary if you want a particular type of wood, please don't hesitate to contact me.

If you would like to have a set of several different animals, these are available via Custom order at significant savings.

My grandson has many small animal cutouts he loves to stack in many different ways. I think he plays with them more than any other toy I have made for him.

Unfortunately, he started playing with them before I had the chance to take photos. All the parts for the truck, except for the wheels, can be made from wood purchased at a big box store. I used a scroll saw to cut the body from a 2x4 section, but a piece of 2x6 would be easier. I had to reduce the body size to avoid the rounded corners on the 2x4.
