Handmade To Car Play Pal Bat Car With Pink Wheels and Amber Shellsc Body 573909473

Buy Now https://www.etsy.com/listing/573909473/ I made the wheels for this Play Pal Bat car, experimenting with colors and clear shellac. The pink wheels popped when I applied the clear shellac. They looked so good that I just had to put them on something to see how they would look. These are not traditional batmobile black, but that didn't seem to matter much; the toy car sold within a few days of posting it to Etsy. While I was reviewing past sales and calculating individual listings conversion rates, I came across this one with an excellent conversion rate without ever being promoted in any way. I decided it needed a second chance and relisted it as a "Made To Order" item. I'm going to do some promotion and see what happens. These photos were taken with a Nikon 5700 camera that I purchased used for $25. #odinstoyfactory #handmade #woodtoys #madeinusa #madeinamerica #gift #birthday #christmas #stockingstuffer #boys #girls #batmobile

A-10 Thunderbolt II (aka Warthog) Wood Toy Airplane Build

Image
My Granson has repeatedly asked for one of these for several weeks every time I see him. I made this one for him for Christmas. Originally I had not intended to make one of these because I don't like the size, and it the details are not correct, but my grandson is seven and probably will not notice.   Drilling The Engine Nacelle For An A-10 Thunderbolt Wood Toy Airplane     The first problem I had was drilling the center hole. The plans say to drill the hole 1-inch deep. It does not need to be that deep. I drilled half that far, and 1/4-inch would have been enough. I had trouble getting the hole centered using my drill press and a heavy vise. When the point of the bit first made contact with the end of the dowel, the end grain would cause the bit to shift slightly. Next time I will need to break out the lathe chuck The second problem I had was drilling the holes for the dowels in the Nacelle. I tried everything I could think of to drill the hole straight through...

Dragon Clock Christmas Gift My First Clock

Image
I made two of these for Christmas gifts. It was the first time I ever made a clock. I had initially intended to cut this from solid wood, but the only piece I had was not flat enough to cut on a scroll saw. Flattening the board would take at least 1/4-inch off the wood, and I didn't want it to be that thin, so I decided to cut it from 19mm Baltic Birch plywood. Plywood is a much better choice than solid because it will not break easily. I bored the hole for the clock using a 2-3/8 Forstner bit as per the pattern instructions. I had never drilled a hole this size before. I had to drill with very light pressure to keep the drill press from stalling. At first, I thought the bit was slipping in the chuck; this was not the case. The drill press belt was slipping. I put as much tension o the belt as I could, and it would still slip. More tension helped, but it didn't stop them from slipping. My drill press has a link belt. Perhaps I should remove a link or two from the belts. The nex...
